Denza Philippines is setting itself up for business in the country. The luxury Chinese brand will be managed by BYD Philippines, which is a direct subsidiary of BYD Auto. The initial four dealers were recently awarded by Denza Philippines, whilst also showcasing the three initial models to be sold in the Philippines.
Beginning with the vehicles, Denza’s initial lineup is composed of the Denza D9 luxury van, the B5 midsize off-roader, and the B8 full-size off-roader. The D9 is aiming to compete with the likes of the Lexus LM, though it is still unknown if it will be sold in plug-in hybrid DM-i or full electric versions. The DM-i variant comes in either 296 or 401 horsepower, both utilizing a 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder, while the fully electric version has 308 horsepower or 369 horsepower.
Next, the Denza B5 midsize off-roader comes in one variant globally. It uses BYD’s DMO plug-in hybrid powertrain for body-on-frame off-roaders, and in this case, the global model produces 677 horsepower. The DMO drivetrain also uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. The B5 has a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 125 kilometers, while its total driving range is more than 1,200 kilometers.
Lastly, the flagship Denza B8’s DMO drivetrain uses a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder and two electric motors, whose total system output is 738 horsepower. This model has a 100-kilometer CLTC-rated pure electric range, along with a total driving range of more than 1,200 kilometers.
Full specs will be revealed, along with final pricing, at a later date. For now, Denza Philippines has revealed that the initial four dealerships include Denza Alabang and Denza Cebu, operated by Ayala’s ACMobility Premium Dealership Inc.; Denza Makati, operated by Harmony New Energy Auto Service (Philippines) Ltd. Corp.; and Denza Greenhills, operated by E-Vantage Motors Inc.
