Nissan Philippines strengthens its flagship SUV lineup with the introduction of an additional variant of the Nissan Patrol—which, oddly enough, is only P50,000 less expensive than the other variant.
So, what exactly do you lose in exchange for P50,000? Well, you lose the two rear screens for the rear entertainment system. Remember, we’re talking about a flagship luxury SUV whose target market probably worries the least about a P50,000 difference between two variants, especially if it concerns just the rear screens.
Apart from the disappearance of the rear screens, the interior of the Nissan Patrol remains a highlight. There’s a 28.6-inch horizontal display layout, which is made up of two 14.3-inch screens combined to make up what Nissan calls a “Monolith” display. The Monolith display is running a new version of Nissan’s operating system called NissanConnect 2.0. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a Klipsch surround sound system,
As with most vehicles these days, the 2026 Nissan Patrol isn’t immune to the downsizing and turbocharging trend. Gone is the 5.6-liter V8, and in its place is a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, which is likewise a gas-fed engine like the previous engine. This V6 produces 425 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, which is 25 hp more than the previous V8. This is sent through all four wheels via a new nine-speed automatic transmission.
Air suspension also helps in providing a supple ride, while its height adjustability aids both aerodynamics when driving on highways, as well as ease of entry and exit. Of course, you can raise the suspension for off-roading use.
