Toyota PH Announces March Arrival Of 2026 RAV4

The 2026 Toyota RAV4 is confirmed to arrive in the Philippines as soon as March, which means that the wait isn't going to be that long.

This is it, the Philippine arrival of the much-anticipated 2026 Toyota RAV4. As it enters a new generation with a more striking design and cutting-edge features, the new RAV4 is set to bring excitement to the compact hybrid SUV segment.

Yes, like the outgoing generation of the RAV4, the new generation model is going to be offered solely as a hybrid. Now using the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS V), the familiar 2.5-liter Dynamic Force naturally-aspirated four-cylinder works in tandem with stronger electric motors, a smarter power control unit, and a more energy-dense lithium-ion battery. As a result, power increases from 219 to 226 horsepower for the front-wheel drive (FWD) version and 236 horsepower for the all-wheel drive (AWD) version.

Speaking of which, it is also confirmed through the Department of Energy’s (DOE) list of recognized hybrids and electric vehicles (EVs) that AWD will come as standard in the new RAV4, so it automatically means we’re getting the better end of the RAV4 stick. What’s also confirmed, based on Toyota Motor Philippines’ latest teaser and the aforementioned DOE approval, is that there will be two variants arriving in the Philippines.

First is the LTD, which, historically, LTD would usually be reserved for the top-trim versions. The LTD variant was previewed at the 54th Golden Tee golfing event as a hole-in-one prize, and from there, the LTD will bear the “Core” design. Globally, the RAV4’s design features three themes, with Core being the standard model, while Adventure and GR Sport feature a rugged and sportier design, respectively. Also confirmed is that the LTD features the full exterior goodies of the RAV4, such as full LED exterior lighting and 20-inch wheels, just to name a few.

Now, the second variant that the DOE approval revealed is a new designation called “ADV”. ADV likely points to Adventure, and as the teaser also confirms, the RAV4 Adventure will also be sold in the Philippines. The Adventure version contains a rectangular grille and extra LED lighting, chunkier body cladding, and heavy-duty roof rails. What won’t be sold (at least not yet) in the Philippines is the GR Sport variant, since in global markets, this variant is reserved for the plug-in hybrid version.

What’s only missing at this point are the interior specs and prices. Globally, however, all RAV4 variants feature two screens—a 12.3-inch screen that’s fitted as standard, along with either a 10.5-inch or 12.9-inch infotainment system. The software powering these screens is completely new, running an in-house operating system called Arene. Arene is making its debut in the RAV4, and it’s Toyota’s first foray into the world of software-defined vehicles (SDVs). The core operating system controls most systems, including the new Toyota Safety Sense 4.0. With Arene, the RAV4 is capable of receiving new features not just in the infotainment, but with anything that’s connected to the vehicle’s software.

While the exterior and interior redesign are significant, the 2026 Toyota RAV4 still uses the TNGA-K platform, albeit with significant improvements. These include reinforcing the frame joints and suspension mounting points while also using high-damping adhesive. All these measures are said to improve refinement and rigidity even further.

With the 2026 Toyota RAV4 arriving in a month from now, you’d better be patient first, as this hybrid crossover SUV will absolutely be worth the wait.
