2026 Denza D9 Arrives In PH To Rival Lexus LM With P3.998M Intro Price

The 2026 Denza D9 is a key rival to the Lexus LM, but price-wise, it is priced below the Toyota Alphard at P4.298M.

Today, BYD’s luxury brand Denza officially commences its operations in the Philippines. Denza Philippines is operated by BYD Philippines itself and not by any other third-party distributor. They promised to launch four vehicles this year, with three of them already being previewed during the luxury brand’s dealership announcement. The first of these is the 2026 Denza D9, a luxury MPV that’s set to compete with the Lexus LM, but at prices that even undercut the Toyota Alphard.

The 2026 Denza D9 will feature a very strong DM-i plug-in hybrid system, whose 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine is mated to a dual electric motor layout, thus giving it all-wheel drive (AWD). Yes, with two electric motors and a turbo four-cylinder, there’s a very strong total system output of 401 horsepower and 681 Nm of torque. However, its 0-100 kph time of 7.9 seconds does not necessarily reflect the very strong output.

The system is hooked up to a planetary gear-type e-CVT, but when you prefer to cruise in pure electric mode, the 40 kWh lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) Blade battery is good enough for a 180-kilometer NEDC-rated pure electric range, and a 980-kilometer total driving range. The battery can be charged at up to 11 kW in AC and up to 80 kW in DC fast charging.

Now, as for features, the 2026 Denza D9 DM-i comes fully loaded with every feature you expect from a luxury MPV. The premium cabin is wrapped in Nappa Leather and genuine wood trims, while drivers are greeted by a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster. Everyone else will appreciate the 15.6-inch main infotainment screen and the theatrical 14-speaker Dynaudio surround sound system. Setting the tone is its 128-color ambient lighting and a large sunroof.

Occupants in the first and second rows get to appreciate heated and cooled seats, along with seat massage functions. Of course, in a vehicle like this, the second-row captain’s chairs are the best seats in the house, as they feature folding tables, a personal multifunction touchscreen on each armrest, and also their own foot rests. A touch of a button on the center console opens a fridge or a warmer, while the built-in Wi-Fi hotspot keeps occupants or businessmen entertained or productive on the move.

On the outside, the 2026 Denza D9 DM-i makes a bold statement with its intricately-patterned tall grille with LED accent lighting, and this is complemented by full LED headlights. 18-inch wheels are also elegantly styled to match the D9’s graceful side profile. At the rear end, the Denza D9 features a full-width LED taillight design with an arrowhead-like design that gives it a distinct glow at night.

Denza takes the driving feel up a notch in the D9, thanks to various technologies designed to improve handling and comfort. The D9 features BYD’s DiSus-C semi-adaptive dampers, which constantly adjust the damping forces for both a supple ride and stable handling. Safety systems like full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and lane centering, as well as blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert, round out the driving technologies in the D9.

The 2026 Denza D9, which is a rival to the Lexus LM, will retail for a highly-competitive P4,298,000, undercutting even the Toyota Alphard. However, for the first 300 customers, this luxury MPV will be retailed at a special price of P3,998,000. Denza’s initial dealers are now open, and they are located in Makati, Greenhills, Alabang, and Cebu.
