Honda Dealers Leak Prelude’s Pricing, Will Retail For P3.498M

Oh no! The Honda Prelude is going to be ridiculously expensive for the Philippine market, as its only P300,000 less than the Type R.

Oh my! We know that in numerous overseas markets, the 2026 Honda Prelude will have a high starting price, and so, to our sadness, the Philippine market’s Prelude will also be retailed at similarly higher prices.

To be precise, a dealer sales agent from Honda Baliuag has leaked that the Prelude will be sold for P3,498,000. Objectively speaking, that’s expensive, especially since the Prelude uses mostly the same e:HEV hybrid system as the Civic RS e:HEV, but with the addition of S+ Shift that adds a simulation of a multi-geared automatic transmission.

Apart from that, the Prelude also gets Brembo brakes and the Civic Type R’s dual-axis strut front suspension. The question is, apart from these technical differences from the Civic, along with its two-door styling and more luxurious interior, is the nearly two-times upcharge for the Prelude over the Civic RS e:HEV worth it?

Now that’s up to you, as the customer, but if you’re interested, the Prelude’s pre-orders have already commenced today. It’ll be available in only one variant called the 2.0 e:HEV CVT, with the following colors:

  • Moonlit White Pearl (New and Exclusive to Prelude)
  • Rallye Red
  • Racing Blue Pearl
  • Meteoroid Gray Metallic
  • Crystal Black Pearl

For reference, the Honda Civic Type R was sold in the Philippines for P3,870,000 before it got discontinued near the end of 2025. Less than P300,000 separates the Type R and the Prelude, but the Type R has significantly more power and performance versus what is essentially a Civic coupe with Brembo brakes and the Type R’s suspension.
