The Audi RS3 cemented its identity surrounding the five-cylinder engine, and what an appropriate vehicle it is to be used by the German luxury automaker to celebrate the brand’s 50 years of the inline-five. Say hello to the Audi RS3 Competition Limited, in which only 750 units will be sold.
Limited to just 750 units worldwide, the Audi RS3 Competition Limited adds unique performance elements to further improve the already excellent handling characteristics of this hot hatch. It all begins with coilovers with adjustable shocks and a new, stiffer rear stabilizer bar.
High-speed and low-speed compression from the shock absorbers can be changed separately, while rebound can be adjusted too. As a result, the driver can customize the comfort and performance of the vehicle to suit their personal requirements, driving style, and the road conditions. A setup manual for adjusting compression and rebound, as well as the needed tools, is included in the RS3 Competition Limited.
Carbon ceramic brakes are fitted as standard, while the wheels can be wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R semi-slick tires. This is perhaps the most hardcore implementation of this platform thus far, which is also shared with the Golf R.
The 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-five of the RS3 Competition Limited produces 394 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, which is enough to send this all-wheel drive (AWD) hot hatch from 0-100 kph in just 3.8 seconds. This is sent through a seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. And for even more driver engagement and connection, the RS3 Competition Limited features less sound insulation around the firewall so that you’ll hear more of the distinct V10 engine-like noise of the five-cylinder.
From the outside, the Audi RS3 Competition Limited stands out with its more aggressive aero that’s composed of canards and a front splitter. These pieces are finished in matte carbon fiber. There are also striking LED headlights with customizable daytime running light signatures, which also feature a welcome sequence that mirrors the 1-2-4-5-3 firing order of the engine’s five cylinders. Topping it all off are 19-inch wheels in a Neodymium gold matte finish, and an aggressive rear wing on top of the tailgate. Three exclusive colors are offered for the RS3 Competition Limited: Malachite Green, matte Glacier White, and Daytona Gray.
Moving inside the Audi RS3 Competition Limited, the cabin features black and Ginter White leather upholstery, while the Alcantara inserts and Neodymium gold accents complement the car’s sporty exterior trims. RS carbon bucket seats are standard equipment, along with exclusive graphics for the digital gauges that feature a design inspired by the RS2 Avant. Finally, there’s an RS3 Competition Limited lettering projected from the puddle lights, along with a matte serial number on the center console.
If you’re interested in the Audi RS3 Competition Limited, it would be a good idea to inquire at PGA Cars, Audi’s Philippine distributor, in order to secure an allocation for this limited edition model.
