The 2013 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) is coming, and so are other auto shows such as Trans Sport Show 2013. New, vintage, and modified cars will all be under the spotlight yet again.
Welcome to Under The Spotlight, where we talk about auto shows and model launches in the Philippines. 2012 was an exciting year for the Filipinos. A favorable economic growth promoted a lot of automobile launched last year. The Ford Focus, Explorer EcoBoost, Mustang (the only country in SE Asia with a Mustang), Toyota 86, BMW 3 Series, 6 Series Gran Coupe, Ferrari California 30, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Hyundai Santa Fe, Lexus GS, RX, ES, and LS, Honda Odyssey, Pilot, Civic, CR-V, City, Kia Optima, Sorento and many more, were all launched in 2012 for Filipinos to spend their money on. The 2012 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) also held Asian premieres of vehicles, something that any car company will never do in the Philippines before. For instance the Asian debut of the 2013 Kia Sorento and Dodge Charger R/T Redline Concept was held at PIMS. The Peugeot brand was re-launched last Nov. 2012 to a crowd wanting a European car instead of the usual Japanese, Korean and American offerings. Indeed there are now more choices than ever before.
2013 seems to be another exciting year. MIAS will welcome yet again more newcomers for 2013. This year will also be the launch of the 2013 Subaru Forester and 2013 Toyota Rav-4. See it all here at DR/VE.
