PGACars, the Porsche, Lamborghini, Bentley, and Audi distributor in the Philippines, has launched to the public the Porsche Macan.
A luxury compact crossover SUV that Porsche says, is the first sportscar in the SUV segment. Its name is appropriately derived from the Indonesian word “tiger”, which already gives some hints at what this compact crossover is all about.
The design is unmistakable Porsche. Huge, bulging headlights, and slim wrap around tail lamps make it looks appropriately fast even at a standstill. Its sloping roofline give it a fastback profile, though it may pose a problem when it comes to loading tall items.
The Porsche Macan is available in two tasty variants, the S and the Turbo, with each model packing a punch. The Macan S is powered by a 3.0 liter twin turbocharged V6 that produces 340 hp and 460 Nm of torque, while the Turbo produces 400 hp and 550 Nm of torque. Acceleration times from 0-100 km/h in the Macan S takes around 5.4 seconds, while the Macan Turbo does the same job in 4.8 seconds. A Macan S Diesel is arriving soon, and this option should spark interest in this sporty compact SUV.
