The Isuzu MU-X comes with three variants. The LS, LS-M, and LS-A. The LS-A is the top trim variant, while the LS-M is the middle, and the LS, is the entry-level. The LS-A variants can either be had in 4×2 or 4×4 models, and can only be had with a 5-speed automatic transmission with a manual mode. The LS-M and LS, meanwhile, can only be had in 4×2, and with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Assuring you have a comfortable ride with surefooted handling is the new suspension set-up. Double wishbones with coil springs and stabilizer bar at the front, and a new 5-link coil spring with stabilizer bars at the rear.

Powering the Isuzu MU-X is a new, 4JK1-TC 4-cylinder 2.5 liter diesel engine with variable geometry turbo. It is a Euro 2 certified engine, producing 136 hp @ 3,400 rpm and 320 Nm of torque from 1,800-2,800 rpm.

The Isuzu MU-X LS-A 4×4 variant is equipped with a Terrain Command Dial. It is a knob located on the center console that lets you change what mode should the 4×4 system be in. It can even be switched at speeds as high as 100 km/h.

Highlighting the MU-X standard equipment are its host of safety features. All, but the LS comes with parking sensors, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist (the LS only has ABS), while the LS-A variant comes with Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System, and a rear-view camera. A special highlight of the MU-X’s safety features are the brakes, which are all discs on all variants but the base LS. Still a rarity in this class of vehicles.

Other special features of the LS-A variants are leather seats with power adjustment for the driver, automatic climate control, smart entry with push-button start, a 10-inch rear entertainment system with a remote control, and a touch-screen infotainment system with navigation and Bluetooth telephone and audio.
