The facelifted 2018 Ford Mustang has been announced today by Ford Philippines to be arriving this year, and for the first time ever, the convertible model will also be joining the line-up.
Changes for the 2018 model year include a newer front fascia that’s tweaked to give a more modern, more contemporary look, with its revised side air vents being reshaped integrating LED daytime running lights with it. The wide grille makes it look more menacing and bolder than before. The sie profile is almost unchanged, still possessing its 1960’s inspired “coke-bottle” rear profile. The rear receives changes mainly to the tail lights, now having a curved shape.
Inside, and there is now a more upmarket and premium interior, complemented by a hand stitched center console, padded knee bolsters, plus new seat upholsteries and designs. Optionally, the analog gauges can be upgraded to a 12-inch TFT LCD screen that is highly configurable.
Equipment levels and engine options are still unannounced by Ford Philippines. We expect Ford to still offer both the 2.3 liter EcoBoost inline-4 turbocharged petrol engine and the 5.0 liter V8 petrol engine. Both engines receive upgrades, with the EcoBoost engine experiencing significant gains on horsepower and torque. The five-o meanwhile now gains direct injection technology, but it can still revert to port injection if the situation demands. Power figures have not been released by Ford Motor Company as well. The most likely only transmission choice would be their new 10-speed automatic transmission. In the USA, the 2018 Ford Mustang will also be available with a new MagneRide adaptive damping system for better ride and handling.
