Toyota brings the pedal to the metal with this year’s blazing Vios Cup! Now on its fifth season, the biggest motorsports festival in the Philippines once again gathers fans of all ages to experience the thrill of racing as we bring the excitement back in the streets of Metro Manila.
Season 5 Race 2 features a street race style at Filinvest Alabang, having formed a race track in the middle of a busy city.
From casual spectators to hardened enthusiasts, everyone got the chance to cheer for their favorite racers as they hit the track and witness the spirit of Waku-Doki at its rawest. Bringing the race back in Filinvest was definitely favorable for the company as the ever-growing crowd faced the unpredictable weather conditions just to witness the action live at the grid.
As the TMP President, Mr. Satoru Suzuki said during the event, “We at Toyota are grateful for the never-failing appreciation and support of the Filipino Public, not just in the Vios Cup, but in the value of motorsports in enhancing the local auto industry.”
In the Celebrity Class, Diego Loyzaga took the crown in the first race, while Troy Montero took the crown during the second race. Fabio Ide, meanwhile, finished second in both races.
In the Promotional Class, Jinno Rufino won the first race, while in the second race, Brian Currie of Toyota Cebu took first place.
Now, at the Sporting Class, Victor Buensuceso of Toyota Makati and Lord Seno of Toyota Cebu captured the crown, after Seno was able to post the fastest lap, while at the Super Sporting Class, Estefano Rivera of Team Obengers won Race 1, while Bryan Co of Team Biskeg won Race 2.
Hopefully, we can expect the same level of excitement in the last leg of the Vios Cup Season 5 on September packed with more thrilling races and more of that Waku-doki spirit back at Clark International Speedway.
