2018 PIMS: Honda BR-V Is Now Made In The Philippines

The BR-V joins the City as being the two distinct Hondas currently made in the Philippines.

The Honda BR-V has quickly become one of Honda Cars Philippines’ most popular models. It’s the brand’s second best selling vehicle, which means that demand and interest in this vehicle is high among Filipino consumers. It has all the right ingredients for success: affordable, reliable, practical, and has seven seats.

Starting this November, the Honda BR-V will now be assembled at the brand’s Santa Rosa plant, alongside the Honda City. This gives the BR-V the distinction of being the sole seven-seater B-segment crossover to be made in the Philippines. Its key rivals, the Mitsubishi Xpander and Toyota Rush, are all shipped overseas.

Pricing and features for the BR-V are unchanged, still being sold in two variants, namely, the entry-level S and top-spec V. Under the hood resides a 1.5-liter SOHC i-VTEC engine producing 120 hp and 145 Nm of torque, with power sent through the front wheels via an Earth Dreams CVT.
