Pick-ups are not normally known for being plush and luxurious inside, but Ssangyong Philippines wants to change that by offering its Musso premium pick-up truck.
The Musso is known to many as an SUV, and this is the first time it will be offered to our market as a pick-up. Being based on the all-new Rexton that has yet to arrive in the Philippines, the SsangYong Musso offers a twist in the pick-up segment. Whereas SUVs like the Ford Everest were born out of the Ranger, the Musso was born out of the Rexton. The SUV came first before the pick-up. As such, it maintains an aura that is more catered towards comfort and refinement.
This trait couldn’t be more evident inside, as the interior feels more plush and luxurious compared to most of the traditional offerings. Plush Nappa Leather and soft touch materials adorn many parts of the cabin. Though it’s far from feeling like a vehicle from the premium brands, it’s nevertheless a more premium effort compared to the traditional offerings.
If the plush interior is still not enough to convince you that this is definitely a premium pick-up, then you might be surprised to find out that the front and rear seats feature seat heating, while the front seats come with the added benefit of seat ventilation. This comes on top of other premium features such as an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among others.
The Musso features a 5-link rear suspension, just like the Nissan Navara, giving the truck the same level of comfort that one would expect in an SUV.
Under the hood of the SsangYong Musso is a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine pumping out 179 hp and 420 Nm of torque. Power is sent through the rear wheels via an Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission.
This premium pick-up truck, with all the bells and whistles mentioned starts at a very reasonable P1,495,000.
