The MINI Monte Carlo Edition has made its debut during the 2018 Mini Festival last October, and as you may have read in the title, the MINI Monte Carlo Edition is a 20-unit run exclusive to the Philippines, so this car is guaranteed to be a future collectible item, and for you to be able to get your hands on one, you must log on to Lazda on November 11, 2018, during the online retail store’s, shopping festival.
More than 50 years after that first historic win, MINI pays tribute to its racing legacy. In a race that went from Minsk, across the Alpine passes, and into the finish line at Monaco, the classic Mini Cooper S barrelled through the roads and took the championship, racing past other cars that were expected to be faster and more powerful.
It was this event that cemented MINI in the hearts and minds of car enthusiasts around the world. The MINI Monte Carlo Edition is a stunning echo of the past and was born to relive MINI’s racing history.
Based on the Cooper S 3-door, the Monte Carlo Edition features a few exterior bits that came from the high performance John Cooper Works variant, such as the rally-style fog lights, checkered flag livery, and a “37” sticker, which pays homage to the original MINI Cooper S that won the Monte Carlo Rally. Rounding up the looks are a snazzy set of 17″ black-painted John Cooper Works alloy wheels.
Inside, an upgraded Harman Kardon audio system has been added to provide excellent listening pleasure to its occupants. A panoramic sunroof floods this quaint hot hatch with a lot of light, while the John Cooper Works bucket seats are hints of the hot hatch’s spirited performance. Lastly, there are commemorative door sill plates that indicate the production number.
