2019 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Roars Into Manila

And it has a starting price of P8,546,888.

As the Chevrolet Corvette celebrates its 65th anniversary, The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI), the exclusive distributor of Chevrolet in the Philippines, brings the legendary Corvette Stingray to the Philippines, which will be sold in a single, albeit fully-loaded variant.

This C7 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was first unveiled in the 2014 model year, and its design still looks fresh today. Nevertheless, the new Corvette looks edgier and more aggressive than its predecessor, with its upswept HID headlights with LED daytime runninrg lights, 19-inch alloys, and the signature silhouette that we’ve come to be familiar with. Some design cues are a first for the Corvette nameplate, such as the tail light which now have a squared-off shape. A new rear quarter window makes its appearance in the C7 Corvette Stingray, which was last seen in the first generation C1 Corvette.

Chevrolet’s engineers used multiple light and rigid materials for the Corvette, such as a carbon fiber hood and removable roof panel; composite fenders, doors and rear quarter panels; carbon-nano composite underbody panels; and a new aluminum frame.

The interior is also a step up from Corvettes of old, featuring luxurious finishes that range from leather wrapped surfaces, real aluminum trims, and real carbon fiber details. An 8-inch TFT LCD serves as the main display for the instrument cluster, while another 8-inch TFT LCD touch screen is located in the center stack for the MyLink infotainment system, which features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A performance recorder is also fitted in the Corvette Stingray, which is perfect for those occasions where you would want to compare and analyze your track performance and history. Elsewhere, you get a bangin’ 10-speaker Bose sound system, as well as Competition Sport Bucket Seats to keep you in place under hard cornering.

Under the hood of the Corvette Stingray is a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, producing 455 hp and 621 Nm of torque, sending power to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. With this powertrain combination, the Corvette Stingray is capable of accelerating from 0-100 kph in less than four seconds.. Keeping body roll in check, as well as providing an excellent ride quality, are its MagneRide Dampers on all four wheels.

The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will be sold at a price of P8,546,888, with deliveries starting in Q1 2019. If you wish to personally view this iconic American sports car, the Corvette will be at the Chevrolet Motorama until November, 2018, at the ground floor of the SM Megamall Fashion Hall.
