The Hyundai Grand Starex has been on sale since 2008, but Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) keeps on improving the formula that the van has been offering to Filipino motorists, eventually leading up to this point where the Grand Starex now offers unparalleled levels of luxury and comfort in its segment. Say hello to the 2019 Hyundai Grand Starex Urban.
Similar to the facelifted entry-level Grand Starex launched last July, the Grand Starex Urban features a new front fascia, but with the grille now being flanked by a pair of projector-type halogen headlights. It also has new 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, LED tail lights, and side step boards. Fresh new paint schemes are also on offer, including this new Tan Brown pain that really suits the premium nature of the Grand Starex Urban.
Whereas the entry-level Grand Starex carried on with the same interior design as before, the dashboard layout in this Grand Starex Urban is all-new. The upper door panels and dashboard are now lined with soft touch materials and brown leather, truly making the Grand Starex Urban a more premium place to be in. The buttons, switches, and gear lever have also been redesigned with better tactile feel. An 8-inch floating touch screen infotainment system stands front and center of the dashboard, while an automatic climate control, LED interior ambient lighting, and dual sunroof should make the experience an even more comfortable one. Brown leather seats are standard, and nine passengers (2+2+2+3) can enjoy the luxury and comfort that the Grand Starex Urban provides.
As for safety, the Hyundai Grand Starex Urban features four airbags, electronic stability control, and rear parking sensors.
Under the hood of the Grand Starex is the same 2.5-liter CRDI turbodiesel engine, but with slightly more power and torque, now at 175 hp and 451 Nm. Power is still sent through a 5-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.
The Hyundai Grand Starex Urban will go on sale in a few weeks with a starting price of P2,750,000.
