Just days after the unveiling of the all-new Nissan Almera, the all-new Nissan Sylphy has just been unveiled at the 2019 Auto Shanghai, giving the popular compact sedan a major overhaul, now carrying a sportier and sleeker exterior.
Like the recently unveiled Almera small sedan, the Sylphy features a very rakish and sleek profile, with the prominent V-Motion grille up front being flanked by a slim pair of LED headlights with LED daytime running lights. The hood features numerous creases, while the side profile has a sloping roofline, complemented by a blacked-out C-pillar for a floating roof effect now seen across Nissan’s entire sedan line-up. At the back, the Nissan Sylphy features striking LED tail lights mimicking the boomerang pattern from the headlights, while a sharp character line runs from the rear doors all the way to the trunk. The car’s slippery design also gives it the same aerodynamic properties of a Nissan GT-R, which stands at 0.27 Cd.
The interior has also been overhauled, giving it a very premium and upmarket treatment. There are loads of soft-touch materials and stitching details, while a tasteful amount of satin silver finishes give it just the right amount of bling. An 8-inch floating touch screen dominates the center stack, while the flat bottomed steering wheel and leather upholstery with quilted pattern truly elevate the interior ambiance of the Sylphy.
No word has been given on what will power the all-new Sylphy, but for the Chinese market, it will be powered by an updated inline-4 1.6-liter petrol engine mated to a CVT.
As expected, the Nissan Sylphy will come with a host of active safety features from the Nissan Intelligent Mobility suite of features, such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning with rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, and Intelligent Driving Alert, which gathers data from the driver’s inputs in the steering and throttle to predict whether the driver is starting to feel drowsy or is distracted.
