Nissan has unveiled the facelifted Navara in Paris, featuring a host of aesthetic and performance upgrades, further boosting the appeal of Nissan’s highly popular pick-up. For 2018, the Navara is the second best selling pick-up and the eighth best selling vehicle overall in the Philippines, and these upgrades should push its popularity further once the upgraded Navara reaches our shores.

The exterior changes are very minor, which include, but not limited to, a slightly revised front fascia, with the LED headlights featuring a black bezel. A host of new 17 and 18-inch wheels also give the Navara a more aggressive and modern look. The signature V-Motion grille remains unchanged, which has been a characteristic design feature of the Navara for quite a while now.

The interior also receives minor changes, and this is highlighted by the addition of a new 8-inch Nissan Connect infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.
Most of the Navara’s changes are mechanical. For 2020, the Navara gets four-wheel disc brakes for improved stopping power, and at least for the European market, a revised version of its 2.3-liter dCi turbo diesel engine in two states of tune, one with 161 hp and 403 Nm, and 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque. This is mated to a revised 6-speed manual with longer ratios and shorter throws. The power figures are unchanged, but it has been revised to be Euro6DTemp compliant. Also, the Navara now features a revised rear suspension with dual-stage coil springs for improved comfort, carrying capability, and better stance when unladen.
In terms of safety, the Nissan Navara continues to feature the brand’s signature 360-degree Around View Monitor technology, and for Europe, the Navara features automatic emergency braking, seven airbags, electronic braking differential, hills start assist, among others.
The Nissan Navara is now on sale in Europe while an Asian launch will most likely follow shortly.
