All-New Kia Seltos Is A Small SUV That’s Big On Tech

It even has a 10.25-inch infotainment system and a Bose sound system.

Small SUVs are one of the most popular vehicles these days, and it’s clear that Kia wants to cash in on the craze with the all-new Kia Seltos. The Kia Seltos has finally been unveiled and we now have photos of the interior as well.

On the outside, the Kia Seltos clearly has its design aimed at younger buyers with its trendy and rugged design. The front is characterized by a tall grille and slim LED headlights. The sides feature a rising window line, as well as a character line that runs from the headlights all the way to the tail lights, with it slightly fading around the middle of the vehicle. Depending on the market, a black roof option can be specified. At the back, the rear fascia has a sporty design with a chrome strip running across the width of the Seltos, blending neatly with the LED tail lights.

The interior of the Kia Seltos is packed with tech, such as the large 10.25-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as an 8-speaker Bose sound system. Another feature that is clearly aimed at millennials are the ambient lights, which can be configured with eight different colors and six different themes, as well as have the ability to pulsate along with the beat of the music you are playing. Kia calls this Sound Mood lighting, which essentially turns the Seltos into a mobile night club. Additionally, the Kia Seltos also comes with a 7-inch multi-information display and a color head-up display.

Under the hood of the Kia Seltos are three engine choices, depending on the region. There’s a 1.6-liter inline-4 turbocharged petrol engine with 177 hp, a naturally-aspirated, 2.0-liter with 149 hp, and a 136 hp, 1.6-liter inline-4 turbo diesel engine. A 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, or a 7-speed dual clutch transmission is offered depending on the engine choice.

As expected with modern cars nowadays, the Kia Seltos can be equipped with a plethora of active driver safety features, ranging from blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, among other features.

The Kia Seltos will go on sale in the last quarter of 2019, with the vehicle being assembled in India and South Korea. With Kia Philippines still unveiling one last box for this year, do you think this might be the Kia Seltos?
