Costing €3,085,000 or P180,487,569.76, the new Pagani Huayra Roadster BC, which made its global debut a few days ago definitely ain’t cheap. Adding 30% to its MSRP due to import duties will easily make this car skyrocket past P200 million. Assuming you have that much money lying around, you could actually order one of the 40 units that Pagani will be producing assuming again it is not yet sold out at this point, through Autohub, of course.
Rather than simply chopping the Huayra BC‘s roof and then calling it a day, Pagani has insisted for further weight reduction measures and bespoke design elements to make the Huayra Roadster BC the ultimate hypercar that has came out of Pagani’s factory. The body, for instance, has been designed to produce 500 kilograms of downforce at 280 kph, ensuring that the tires are always gripping onto the road. And yet, despite being an exotic hypercar, Pagani claims that its engineers gave it usable ground clearance to “allow passengers to enjoy driving at its finest, whether it’s on public roads or racetracks.” To achieve this, the engineers focused on finding a balance between its internal air-flows system and its external aerodynamically-sleek silhouette in all driving conditions.
Pagani has also added numerous unique interior details that set apart the Huayra Roadster BC from its roof-ed sibling. The interior combinrs elements that tribute to the past legends of motorsports along with present and future designs and technologies. Elegance and style are transmitted by materials like the carbo-wood and finely embossed leather, as well as by mechanisms such as the racing-style four-point seatbelt and sophisticated accessories like the nine-channel audio system.
Of course, a Pagani wouldn’t be a Pagani without the brand’s material sorcery, and that has truly made its way here with the Huayra Roadster BC. It features new, exclusive composite technologies based on carbon fibre and carbon-titanium that offer an increase of 12% in torsional rigidity and 20% in flexional rigidity compared to Pagani past models. It has also resulted in a very light hypercar that only weighs 1,250 kg.
Like all Paganis, the heart of this piece of art is a Mercedes-AMG sourced twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 petrol engine. It is an all-new design with a very sonorous exhaust note, producing 800 hp and 1,050 Nm of torque from as early as 2,000 rpm. The new engine features a set of innovations, including two new turbos, a revolutionary hydroformed manifold, twin throttle bodies and four water- air intercoolers; all of this supported by a sophisticated electronic system designed by Bosch for making the maximum use of its potential. Last, but not least, the Huayra Roadster BC powerful V12 engine complies with the latest international carbon dioxide and gas emission standards without having to resort to a hybrid system.
This is all sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed semi-automatic transmission. The tranny’s flywheel-clutch unit consists of a triple-disc clutch, an electronically controlled differential and a racing-style three-way coupling system. Pagani has not resorted to using a dual-clutch transmission because this transmission system is 35% lighter.
All that power is put to the ground through bespoke Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tyres, tailor-made for the Roadster BC. Created in the Modular Integrated Robotized System, or “MIRS”, the Pirelli high-performance tyres have been specifically designed “to transmit, above all, a sensation of total safety and control even for the least expert driver, regardless of weather and driving dynamics.”
Track tests has proven that the having these tires give the Huayra Roadster BC a lateral acceleration of 1.9 g during constant running, with peaks of 2.2 g, and a longitudinal deceleration of 2.2 g. The PZero Trofeo R is not only synonymous with superior performance, but it is also designed to have less rolling resistance.
Lastly, the rims have been developed together with APP and are made of forged Avional alloy. With a lightweight manual finish 14-spoke design.
Braking is through a partnership between Pagani and Brembo, in which the Huayra Roadster BC is fitted with a Pagani by Brembo carbon-ceramic system measuring 398x36mm at the front with a 6-piston one-piece caliper brake and 380x34mm at the rear with a 4-piston one-piece caliper.
This makes the Huayra Roadster BC ultimate Pagani to date. Do you wish to see Pagani’s latest creation on Philippine roads?
