All-New Mercedes-Benz CLA Targets Young Luxury Car Buyers With A P3.190M Starting Price

The all-new CLA 180 packs more style and luxury than ever before.

Auto Nation Group, the official distributor of Mercedes-Benz in the Philippines has finally launched the all-new, second-generation CLA four-door coupe, which is the sleeker, more stylish sibling of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class hatchback which made its local debut last year. Further proof that cars are now becoming integrated into our mobile lifestyles, Mercedes-Benz has chosen the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) as the venue to globally unveiled the all-new CLA Coupe.

While the CLA shares the same basic architecture and design as the A-Class hatchback and sedan, the CLA follows a more distinctive design in-line with the CLS Coupe’s philosophy of offering more seductive styling and sportier performance. Just like the CLS, character lines have been simplified and reduced in order to create a car with a more minimalist profile. The altered dimensions give the CLA better proportions, too. With a drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd, it remains to be one of the most aerodynamic in its class, but the previous model was more aerodynamic at 0.22 Cd. This is mainly thanks to the all-new CLA’s wider and larger front fascia.

Being a Mercedes-Benz, the interior is expectedly luxurious, featuring numerous plush materials and premium surfaces. The all-new CLA utilizes a similar architecture with the rest of the brand’s compact car line-up. As such, the interior design is highlighted by two 7-inch screens, one for the digital instrument cluster and the other for the main infotainment screen of the MBUX system. The MBUX infotainment system is controlled via the touch screen or the center-mounted touchpad. As cars become much more closely integrated into our mobile lives, MBUX’s intelligent voice assistant can easily be summoned by simply saying “Hey, Mercedes!” and then it’s simply giving the system a conversational command such as “I feel cold” to heat up the interior.

As for driver safety and convenience features, the all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA 180 is equipped with autonomous emergency braking, automated parking assist with reverse camera, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, among other features.

Only one variant of the Mercedes-Benz CLA will be sold, and that is the CLA 180. Under its hood is a 1.3-liter inline-4 turbo petrol engine that produces 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque, with power being sent through the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA 180 is now on sale in the Philippine market across all of Mercedes-Benz Philippines’ dealers with an MSRP of P3,190,000
