SLEX Northbound Lane Closure Creates Massive Congestion

A lot more patience is needed when driving to Manila in the coming months.

Starting today, motorists from the south have to endure intense congestion in the coming months. Plan your trips ahead because traveling to Manila from the south will demand a lot of patience from motorists.

This is because of the Skyway extension project that’s currently ongoing. As a result, the outermost lane after Alabang viaduct has been closed to traffic. A stop-and-go traffic scheme has been implemented at the East Service Road (near Kawasaki) in order for motorists to pass through.

Despite all these measures, congestion has become intense, reaching as far back as Sta. Rosa exit as of 3 pm today.

SMC Tollways has not given any timeframe as to whether the construction will end. Let’s just hope that the construction will end by the time the holidays come in. For now, all we can do is be extremely patient when traveling to Manila in the coming months.
