The Mitsubishi L300 is an iconic workhorse among Filipinos. The L300 was absent in the market for more than a year ever since the Euro IV requirement of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) was implemented at the start of 2018. This left many customers holding on to their L300s since many of its customers find their beloved L300s to be the only vehicle that fits their needs. Well, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has officially launched the new, more powerful and more capable L300. The iconic workhorse is back once again in the market to drive your business to new heights and become a more capable people mover for the daily commute.
The new L300 may look similar up front, but MMPC has made crucial changes to the L300. One of the most noticeable exterior changes is the cab’s increased ride height, now at 100 mm higher than before. Mitsubishi has also added a new horizontal chrome grille to distinguish it from older L300s. Other improvements were made to the rest of the body and suspension to cope with the new, more powerful diesel engine.
The interior also carries over almost unchanged, though MMPC has made quite a few improvements to the interior to give it some modern amenities. This includes a newer, easier-to-read gauge cluster with a digital odometer and a new 1DIN radio with AM, FM, AUX, USB and MP3 capability.
Reviving the L300 meant that it needed an all-new powertrain, and so Mitsubishi’s engineers decided to use the 4N14 CRDI and turbocharged diesel engine, which is also the same diesel engine used in the Eclipse Cross, ASX, just to name a few. This new engine has been tuned specifically for the L300 to deliver 99 hp and 200 Nm of torque, powering the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. As a result of this new powertrain, the L300 now has a higher payload capacity of 1,085 kg.
The Mitsubishi L300 is officially back once again in the Philippine market. Now with a cleaner, more powerful and more fuel-efficient diesel engine, the Mitsubishi L300 is now on sale across all Mitsubishi showrooms nationwide with a starting price of P804,000 for the cab and chassis variant. To meet the various needs of business owners and transportation services, Almazora will provide a wide range of L300 bodies to meet various customers’ needs, whether it may be for passenger, delivery, or food truck use.
