Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) unveils the all-new Traviz lightweight truck. Isuzu’s smallest vehicle in its commercial vehicle line-up has been designed to help in your “last mile” delivery or door-to-door deliveries and other transportation needs of the public.
The Traviz is called as such because it blends the words “Transport, Trading, and Transcend” and then combined with the word “biz”, which is the shortened term for “business”. In order for the Traviz to be a reliable partner for businesses and transport operators, its dimensions have been designed to be compact enough to fit through tight streets thanks to its small 4.5-meter turning radius. A power steering system with Deceleration Sensing Proportioning Valve (DSPV) is equipped to help the Traviz be maneuverable even during emergency braking situations.
It also has class-leading capabilities through its payload of 1.6 tonnes and can accommodate rear body designs of up to 10 feet to meet the various needs of customers. This capability is thanks to a durable chassis, aerodynamically-optimized cab design, and a powerful 4JA1 2.5-liter inline-4 BluePower turbo diesel engine, producing 78 hp and Nm of torque, sending power to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. With this powertrain, the Traviz has a claimed fuel economy figure of up to 23.4 km/l.
Inside, the Traviz features a 4-way manually adjustable driver’s seat, two-speaker audio system with tuner and USB, as well as reverse warning buzzer. An air conditioning system is optional.
IPC has also showcased that the Traviz can be configured to suit various needs. As such, two wheelbase versions are on offer. The Traviz S is the short wheelbase variant priced at P962,000 while the Traviz L is the long wheelbase variant that can accommodate body designs of up to ten feet and carries a price tag of P992,000. On display at the event are various Traviz models showcased as a passenger utility vehicle, refrigerated cargo van, and as a dropside cargo hauler. The Traviz will also serve as the basis for Isuzu’s Class 1 Modern PUV with details to follow soon.
The Indonesian-made Isuzu Traviz is now on sale across all dealers nationwide and it comes with a 3-year/100,000 kilometer warranty, whichever comes first. Do note that the prices above only include the cab and chassis of the Traviz.
