Nissan is not exactly in their best foot forward globally for 2019, having been rocked by a set of controversies as well as reporting a 98.5 percent dip in operating profit for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2019. Despite all these, it’s hard to ignore Nissan’s outstanding growth in the Philippine market as the brand is now in the top 3 for 2019. As such, Nissan the Philippines was awarded the Nissan Global Award for the financial year 2019 as a top contributor to the automotive brand’s growth.
In addition, the Nissan Sta. Rosa dealership also received a Nissan Global Award for dealers, as the only dealership in the country to get the accolade for this year.
The annual awards were given to national sales companies and dealers based on criteria such as new car sales volume, growth in market share and achieving business plans for customer satisfaction in sales and aftersales. A total of eight national sales companies and 161 dealers received this year’s awards.
“We are truly honored to receive this recognition. This award is a result of our strong fundamentals in our products and services. We are grateful for the hard work and dedication of our people in NPI and our dealer network, especially Nissan Sta. Rosa for achieving international distinction,” said Atsushi Najima, president and managing director for Nissan in the Philippines.
It really seems there’s no stopping the Japanese brand’s growth for the coming months or even years. For 2020, Nissan Philippines seeks to maintain its momentum as it introduces numerous products next year, including the local launch of the Nissan Leaf, the brand’s affordable fully-electric vehicle.
