Ford PH Is Launching The New Everest Sport On March 18

Ford is yet again expanding the Everest line-up.

March is so far turning out to be a busy month in the motoring industry as we’ll be witnessing quite a number of car launches happening during the entire month. Ford also isn’t letting March pass without making any impact in the automotive industry as the American automaker is launching the new Everest Sport on March 18, 2020.

Refreshed last year as a 2020 model year, the Ford Everest Sport is a new, sporty addition to the Everest Range. In the land down under, the Everest Sport sits in between the Trend and Titanium variant, and is separated from other variants through its unique black grille, 20-inch black alloy wheels and gloss black exterior detailing. Other exterior features include full LED headlights along with an obligatory ‘Sport’ graphic at the rear doors. Making its debut in the Everest Sport is a new Deep Crystal Blue exterior color.

The interior also gets the same sporty theme found in the exterior, which includes numerous blue interior details such as the door handles, stitching on the seats, doors, and dashboard, and an embossed ‘Sport’ logo on the headrests of the front seats. An 8-inch SYNC3 infotainment system remains as standard, and it comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Ford’s ingenious windshield-mounted USB port is also offered in the Everest Sport.

As expected, the Everest Sport does not come with any performance upgrades. In Australia and New Zealand, the Everest Sport can be had with a 3.2-liter inline-5 turbo diesel engine that produces 192 hp and 470 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic, or the new 2.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine from the Ranger Raptor that produces 210 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The latter engine is fitted to a 10-speed automatic transmission, while both engines are offered with 4WD.

Ford Philippines has not revealed final specifications for the new Everest Sport. All we know is that Ford is yet again expanding its Everest line-up with the launch of the new Everest Sport on March 18, 2020.
