2020 Suzuki XL7 Now On Sale In PH For P1.068M

The Suzuki XL7 enters the competitive small 7-seater crossover market. Would you pick the Suzuki XL7 over its competitors?

Suzuki Philippines has postponed the launch of the Suzuki XL7 on March 18, opting instead to do the full reveal online. With that said, the Suzuki XL7 represents the Japanese automaker’s first leap into the 7-seater small crossover segment. Other competitors in this arena include the Toyota Rush, Honda BR-V, and Mitsubishi Xpander Cross.

First debuting in India as the Maruti Suzuki XL6, the Suzuki XL7 is a more rugged version of the Suzuki Ertiga. As mentioned before, the XL7 is not simply an Ertiga with higher ground clearance and then calling it a day. It has 200 unique components, some of which include a revised front fascia that features a revised front bumper and a new grille with a horizontal bar running across it. Providing illumination are sharp automatic LED headlights with LED daytime running lights. The side profile largely remains unchanged, while the rear LED tail lights from the Ertiga are carried over into the XL7. Revisions have been made into the tailgate, including a black treatment above the chrome garnish.

Likewise, the XL7’s interior remains fundamentally the same from the Ertiga, though Suzuki has implemented a host of material upgrades. The predominantly black interior gets trimmed with a faux carbon fiber-like design. Other upgrades include 12V sockets on all three rows, an automatic climate control system, and a center armrest for the rear passengers. These two new features are also in the 2020 Ertiga.

Riding on top of the brand’s HEARTECT platform, it promises excellent driving dynamics as seen in the popular Swift hatchback along with excellent crash safety. As for its other safety features, the Suzuki XL7 comes with electronic stability control, hill start assist, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and a reverse camera.

Under the hood of the XL7 is the same 1.5-liter K15B inline-4 petrol engine powering the Ertiga, producing 104 hp and 138 Nm of torque. Only one variant will be sold, which is equipped with a 4-speed automatic and carries a price tag of P1,068,000 along with a P30,000 pre-order discount. The Suzuki XL7 is now available on all dealerships nationwide.
