Mazda 100th Anniversary Prizes Are Up For Grabs In Gran Turismo Sport

The Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Concept is now available at Gran Turismo Sport. Participate in the contest and you can win special 100th Anniversary prizes.

As you may probably know by now, Mazda Motor Corporation is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. As a way to mark this momentous occasion, the Japanese automaker released a commemorative logo that’s free for everyone to use. In addition, Mazda is also releasing a special 100th Anniversary Edition of its entire line-up–from the Mazda 3 to the MX-5. For racing simulator fans, Mazda also has a surprise in store. Mazda Motor Corporation–in partnership with Polyphony Digital and Sony Computer Entertainment, unveils the new Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Concept that’s free for everyone to use in Gran Turismo Sport.

As a recap, the Mazda RX-Vision is a concept car that was unveiled at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. Based on Mazda’s Kodo design theme, the Japanese automaker wanted to create the most beautiful rear-wheel-drive (RWD) sports car that they could come up with. This car is also powered by the next-generation Skyactiv-R rotary engine, a dream that Mazda wants to bring to life in the future.

Mazda successfully introduced a commercial rotary engine through the Cosmo Sport back in 1967. Since then, the Japanese automaker from Hiroshima is still the only manufacturer to mass-produce rotary engines. Mazda worked to improve its output, fuel economy, and durability and even took the overall victory in the 1991 Le Mans 24 Hour Endurance Race in their 787B.

The Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Concept expresses the beauty of the base car in the form of a more aggressive race car. To meet the performance requirements of the Gr. 3 class, the design draws from the 787B engine concept, with a 4-rotor engine brought back to life using Skyactiv technology.
