2020 Toyota Wigo Facelift Goes On Sale In PH, Starts At P568K

The new 2020 Toyota Wigo is now officially on sale in the Philippines with a P568,000 starting price. A new TRD S variant brings sportiness to the line-up.

The Toyota Wigo was first launched in the Philippine market in 2014. Since then, the most-affordable Toyota has become a popular choice for first-time car buyers looking for a car that’s easy to purchase and maintain. In 2017, the Wigo was given its first facelift, further improving on what made the Wigo very popular. With these upgrades, the Toyota Wigo captured 69 percent of the low-cost car segment with 83,000 units sold by 2019. To maintain its popularity, Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has given the Wigo another facelift for the 2020 model year.

“The new Wigo remains an iconic car that offers the same familiar feeling of practicality and reliability, but made more advanced, more convenient, safer, and more fun with its sleek and sporty TRD Styling,” said TMP President Atsuhiro Okamoto during his welcome remarks.

The 2020 Wigo lineup is headlined by the new TRD S, which gets a sportier look through the addition of a sporty body kit along with various TRD S badges and decals. The new Yellow SE color is only available in the TRD S variant. Meanwhile, the rest of the lineup introduces a host of aesthetic changes and more advanced features. For the G variant, there’s a new set of machine-cut design alloy wheels and a new look on its rear LED combination lamps.

Toyota has also upgraded the interior of the new Wigo. All variants get power windows, door locks, and a new instrument panel design. Premium features such as push-button start, steering wheel controls, LCD touch panel design for the manual aircon, and power-folding mirrors are exclusive for the TRD S and G variants. Lastly, the TRD S variant gets a new infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, voice command, and an integrated dashcam.

Under the hood of the Toyota Wigo is the same 1.0-liter inline-3 petrol engine as before, which still produces 66 hp and 89 Nm of torque. Transmission options are unchanged–either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic.

As for safety, all variants come with ABS, dual SRS airbags, and rear parking sensors. A reverse camera is equipped only in the G and TRD S variants.
