After numerous social media teasers, Mazda Philippines’ latest unveiling is the new Mazda 3 edition100. Despite the 100 in its name, this new variant is actually a celebration of the Mazda 3 being crowned as the world’s best-designed car for 2020 at the World Car Awards.
The Mazda 3 edition100 features colorway and detail enhancements that accentuate the dynamic form of the Mazda 3 Sportback Premium, giving it an even more striking presence on the road.
For its exterior design, the Mazda 3 edition100 has the same sportier front bumpers, side skirts, and rear bumper design of the Mazda 3 Speed variant. However, the front lip, side skirt, and rear bumper have been color-matched depending on the chosen color. Snowflake White Pearl and Jet Black units have a Soul Red Crystal body kit while the Soul Red Crystal units have a gloss black body kit.
Complementing the contrasting body kits are its high-gloss Midnight Black 18-inch wheels and red brake calipers–both of which are a nod to the Mazda 3’s sporty and dynamic DNA. Finally, a relocated front license plate holder opens the striking front grille of the car, revealing more of the dynamic beauty and vibrant elegance that has made the Mazda 3 the winner of the 2020 World Car Design of the Year Award.
As for the interior, the Mazda 3 edition100 comes with distinct premium red leather seats and interior trims, which is also found in the Mazda 3 Speed variant. It’s also equipped with a signature 12-speaker Bose sound system, a head-up display, a power-adjustable driver’s seat with two-person memory, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, 8.8-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system, among others.
The Mazda 3 remains to be one of the most well-equipped passenger cars on the market with its full-suite of i-Activsense driver-assist systems, which includes radar-guided adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, front and rear cross traffic alert, blind spot warning, adaptive LED headlights, and driver attention monitoring. This comes on top of a 360-degree camera system, electronic stability control, along with a plethora of airbags.
Now, because this is purely an aesthetics upgrade, the Mazda 3 edition100 is still powered by the same 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G petrol engine as before, which produces 154 hp and 200 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 6-speed automatic.

The complete Mazda3 edition100 package adds P100,000 to the P1,510,000 SRP of the Mazda 3 Sportback Premium, putting its final price at P1,610,000. For perspective, the Mazda 3 Speed is priced at P1,590,000. Discounts of as much as P100,000 are also currently on offer with the Mazda 3, CX-30, and more this July.
