Mercedes-Benz Philippines is now offering the new diesel-powered Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Serving as the new entry point to the German luxury automaker’s iconic off-roader, the Mercedes-Benz G350d has the same qualities as the legendary G-Class but with the efficiency and strong torque provided by a diesel engine.
Though the luxury SUV continues to retain its iconic boxy silhouette, the technologies it presents is very much modern. The Exterior features of this new Mercedes-Benz G350d include full LED headlights, 19-inch five twin-spoke alloy wheels, full LED taillights, and wide color selection to suit each every taste.
Being one of the flagships of the Mercedes-Benz SUV lineup, the G350d is expectedly full of luxurious features. As standard, the SUV comes with smart entry with push-button start, power-adjustable front seats, leather interior, leather grab handles for front passengers, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and ambient lighting in 64 colors and 10 color schemes. Occupants will also appreciate Mercedes-Benz’s COMAND infotainment system with its large 12.3-inch high-resolution screen.
Powering the Mercedes-Benz G350d is a powerful yet fuel-efficient 3.0-liter inline-6 turbo diesel engine that produces 286 hp and 600 Nm of torque. Power is handled by a 9-speed automatic transmission and is sent to a permanent AWD system that splits power to 40 percent at the front and 60 percent at the rear. This powertrain also has a low-range off-road reduction gear which considerably increases torque at the drive wheels when driving over difficult terrain.
This new powertrain option for the G-Class also makes this model the most fuel-efficient and eco-friendly G-Class ever. The powerful diesel engine is paired with efficient emissions reduction that is installed directly at the engine. This contributes to faster effectiveness of the catalytic converter and the diesel particulate filter. Thanks to the near-engine insulated configuration, the emissions control system has little heat loss.
The Mercedes-Benz G350d also comes with a host of advanced driver-assist systems. On top of the usual stability control and the plethora of airbags, this model also gets automatic emergency braking (marketed as Active Brake Assist) and adaptive brake lights.
The Mercedes-Benz G350d is now on sale across all Mercedes-Benz dealers in the Philippines with a price tag of P10,890,000.
