The all-new 2021 Subaru Levorg is now on its second generation. The Japanese automaker previewed its sporty wagon as a pre-production prototype at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show, showcasing its more sculpted exterior. However, we still have no idea what the interior looks like, at least until now.
Through leaks provided by Japanese automotive website Creative Trend, we now finally have an idea of what the next-generation Levorg’s interior looks like. Easily noticeable is the new fully-digital gauge cluster, which is a first for Subaru. The large portrait Starlink infotainment system, which debuted in the Subaru Outback and Legacy, carries over to the Levorg, too. Based on the photos, the interior seems to be adorned with blue stitching details. This has been a design trait of the Levorg ever since this sporty wagon came out.
Lastly, the leak has also shown that the 2021 Subaru Levorg will come with a hands-free power liftgate, which is also a first for Subaru.
Powertrain details have not been completely revealed as well. The only detail that Subaru announced during last year’s show is that the Levorg will have an all-new 1.8-liter horizontally-opposed four-cylinder boxer engine with turbocharging and direct injection, which Subaru says “balances acceleration and environmental performance at a high level.”
As with most modern cars nowadays, the 2021 Subaru Levorg will be equipped with a host of advanced driver-assist features bundled together under EyeSight. For the all-new Levorg, EyeSight gets overhauled with a new, wide-angle stereo camera system and four radars. Subaru says that despite having a higher capability of semi-autonomous driving, the Levorg is still first and foremost a driver’s car.
Subaru is expected to unveil the 2021 Levorg by the second half of 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it wouldn’t be surprising if the sporty wagon’s unveiling will be delayed.
