2021 Peugeot 3008 And 5008 Gets Improved Design, Better Tech

The 2021 Peugeot 3008 and 5008 have been given a comprehensive facelift to bring these two crossover SUVs in line with its latest vehicles.

The 2021 Peugeot 3008 and 5008 crossover SUVs has been given a facelift, bringing it in line with its newer, sportier-looking cars such as the 508 midsize executive sedan and 208 subcompact hatchback. These two highly-successful crossover SUVs have also been given new tech and better performance.

The new 2021 Peugeot 3008 and 5008 features the French automaker’s latest frameless grille design. The distinctive grille’s horizontal lines extend beyond the grille and onto the fang-like LED daytime running lights. At the rear, the two crossover SUVs feature a new LED taillight design that’s covered in smoked glass.

The i-Cockpit interior also receives a few changes. Drivers will appreciate the new 10-inch infotainment screen, along with better materials for a more premium feel. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available, along with wireless charging and an optional 515-watt Focal sound system. Buyers can opt for various interior upholstery, ranging from fabric seats to Nappa Leather and Mistral Black Alcantara seats.

Under the hood of the 2021 Peugeot 3008 and 5008 are a number of new engine choices. For the 3008, there’s a pair of new HYBRID4 300 e-EAT8 and HYBRID 225 e-EAT8 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains. The former PHEV powertrain has a combined output of 300 hp and has a zero to 100 kph acceleration time of just 6.1 seconds. Meanwhile, the latter PHEV powertrain has a combined output of 225 hp. Both plug-in hybrid powertrains are mated to an 8-speed automatic.

For those who don’t want an electrified powertrain, there’s a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine good for 128 hp, a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbo gasoline engine food for 177 hp, and a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine good for 128 hp. A 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission is available, except for the diesel which only comes with the automatic.

For the 5008, it basically has the same engines as the 3008 except for the PHEV powertrains. The 7-seater 5008, however, gets a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine good for 150 hp, which is only mated to an 8-speed automatic.

As with most modern cars nowadays, the 2021 Peugeot 3008 and 5008 can be equipped with a plethora of advanced driver-assist systems ranging from full-speed adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, just to name a few.

The 2021 Peugeot 3008 and 5008 is expected to go on sale in Europe first before the end of 2020.
