After a lengthy teaser campaign, the 2021 Kia Stonic is now officially on sale at all Kia dealers nationwide. With the pre-launch starting price of P675,000 that has been extended until the end of November, this officially makes the Stonic the most affordable small SUV on sale in the country.
As mentioned in our previous article, there’s not much deviation across the three variants, which is a good thing. Even if you buy the P675,000 LX MT (with discounts), this variant gets projector halogen headlights, roof rails, and 16-inch alloy wheels. What merely sets the top-of-the-line EX variant apart from the LX MT and AT variants are its LED daytime running lights and available two-tone paint scheme.
Whichever variant you choose, you get fabric seats, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, steering wheel audio controls, 6-speaker sound system, and even an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Yes, all of these high-tech features are available even in the sub-P700K LX MT variant. Stepping up to the EX AT variant adds smart entry with push-button start and automatic climate control.
As mentioned in our prior articles, the 2021 Kia Stonic will be powered by a 1.4-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline engine that produces 95 hp for the 5-speed manual variant and 100 hp for the 6-speed automatic variant. Both have the same torque figure at 132 Nm, with all the power and torque being sent to the front wheels.
In terms of safety, all variants get a reverse camera with dynamic guidelines, ABS with EBD, and dual SRS airbags. Stepping up to the EX AT adds rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and hill start assist.
Kia Philippines also used this opportunity to unveil its new virtual showroom. Rather than the usual showroom background, each vehicle in the new digital Kia outlet features a unique backdrop that Kia says “depicts the environment of the target users, as if they are really out on the road.” To see the digital showroom, customers may log on to the Kia website at www.kia.com/ph.
With its aggressive pricing and generous equipment list, the queues are already very long for the 2021 Kia Stonic. Better head on to your nearest Kia dealer now if you’re interested in the brand’s latest small SUV. As a recap, here are the prices of the Kia Stonic with their pre-launch discounts that are effective until the end of November:
LX MT: P675,000
