2021 Ford EcoSport Gains New Active Variant In Europe

The 2021 Ford EcoSport Active is basically a more rugged version of the existing EcoSport. Do you wish Ford would sell this in our market?

Ford has unveiled a new variant for the EcoSport in Europe called the EcoSport Active. The new 2021 Ford EcoSport Active is essentially a restyled and more rugged version of the existing EcoSport, which received a facelift in 2017.

As expected, the EcoSport Active’s exterior design is largely the same. Though in keeping with the rugged image, Ford has added more black plastic cladding around the vehicle. There’s also a new grille along with a slightly increased ground clearance. Lastly, there’s a new 17-inch wheel design, black door mirrors, and a black-painted roof to further set it apart from other EcoSport variants.

The interior of the 2021 Ford EcoSport Active is also largely the same as the standard EcoSport. The only major difference is the “A” branding in the leather seats. As for features, it still uses the usual 8-inch SYNC3 infotainment system, smart entry with push-button start, just to name a few.

The 2021 Ford EcoSport Active is powered by a 1.0-liter inline-3 turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 123 hp and 200 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a standard 6-speed manual transmission.

Ford also sells a sportier version of the EcoSport in Europe called the ST Line. That version of the EcoSport features a more aggressive front fascia, side skirts, two-tone paint, and larger alloy wheels.

The new, more rugged EcoSport is now on sale in the UK. Ford has not announced availability for other markets, which means this car will most likely remain a European-only offering.
