All-New 2021 Isuzu D-Max To Make PH Debut On March 4

Yes, the highly-anticipated all-new 2021 Isuzu D-Max is coming to the Philippines on March 4, which is less than a month away.

Stop whatever you’re doing right now because the all-new, highly-anticipated Isuzu D-Max is coming to the Philippines on March 4, 2021. Isuzu Philippines Corporation has just posted a teaser photo on their official Facebook page showcasing the headlight design of its upcoming pickup as a way to tease its Filipino customers.

Based on the teaser photo, it is clearly seen that it showcases the LED headlights with LED daytime running lights of the top trim variant of the D-Max. This variant should also feature two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels along with smart entry with push-button start. During its global launch in Thailand, Isuzu says its wedge-shaped profile has been wind tunnel tested at Japan Railways’ (JR) Technical Research Institute in order to optimize its aerodynamics. Meanwhile, the side profile features a character line that runs from the front wheel arch all the way to the rear LED taillights.

This all-new pick-up rides on an all-new ladder frame chassis that aims to substantially improve refinement and chassis rigidity. Complementing the improved road manners is an all-new interior design that Isuzu says features premium soft-touch materials and other luxurious surfaces. We still don’t know what kind of features the Philippine-market D-Max will have, but we suspect it will feature Isuzu’s OEM 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Two engine options are available globally, and based on the teaser photo of a top trim D-Max, it is most likely that the new 3.0-liter 4JJ3-TCX BluePower diesel engine will be offered. This engine produces 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque, an increase of 13 hp and 70 Nm over the outgoing 4JJ1-TCX. The 1.9-liter RZ4E-TC engine is also a new engine and it produces 150 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Power is sent through the rear or all four wheels via a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Globally, the Isuzu D-Max gets a plethora of advance driver-assist systems. Some of these features include blind spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, automatic high beam and automatic emergency braking. We certainly hope that these features do make their way into the Philippine-market D-Max.

With the all-new 2021 Isuzu D-Max coming to the Philippines, competition in the pickup segment is certainly going to heat up once again.
