Chery Auto PH Exceeds Its Sales Target For January 2021

As a sign of market recovery and a compelling product lineup, Chery Auto Philippines was able to exceed its sales target last month.

Sales of Chery vehicles in the country have exceeded the automaker’s initial target. For the month of January, Chery Auto Philippines delivered 152 brand-new units to their owners from an initial target of 121 units.

The positive result came from a combination of factors led by the growing awareness of the upstart new brand and the extraordinary value from its feature-packed crossovers. Concerns of consumers regarding reliability and after-sales repair and maintenance issues are effectively addressed by Chery Auto Philippines’s industry-leading warranty and PMS programs, which boasts an industry-leading 10-year/1 million-km engine warranty, a 5-year general warranty, 3-year roadside assistance and a FREE full preventive maintenance service (PMS) for 3 years.

The figures reflect the strong demand for the company’s four-model lineup of crossovers. Leading the charge is the subcompact Tiggo 2 followed by the Tiggo 5x, with the flagship Tiggo 8 7-seater midsize SUV taking a strong third ranking.

The very spacious and stylish Tiggo 7 Pro was just launched last January 27 but already had 2 deliveries before the month ended. This newly-launched crossover SUV continues to receive strong orders and inquiries and is expected to post substantial sales in the coming months.

Leading the charge is the entry-level yet feature-rich Tiggo 2 subcompact crossover, which is now available in head-turning two-tone colors with black roof and pillars. The Tiggo 2 is powered by a Euro 5-compliant 1.5-liter DOHC 16-valve VVT engine and comes in manual (P695,000) and automatic (P770,000) variants.

One level higher is the higher-specced Tiggo 5x subcompact crossover which shares the Tiggo 2’s drivetrain and also comes in manual (P818,000) and automatic (P860,000) versions. The fully loaded (with sunroof and a generous array of comfort and convenience features) Tiggo 5x Luxury comes at a price of P950,000.

One size higher is the all-new compact Tiggo 7 Pro, which is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine boasting 145hp and 210Nm of torque and a completely new 9-speed continuously variable transmission (CVT). The head-turning Tiggo 7 Pro retails for P1,198,000, which is a mere P3,000 more than its predecessor.

Surprising new car buyers with its premium build quality and luxury car features is the midsize 7-seater Tiggo 8. It also has a turbo 1.5-liter engine and automatic and is priced at P1,280,000. An even more fully loaded Tiggo 8 Luxury EX goes for P1,340,000. The Chery Tiggo 8 is unique among the many car models in the market now with its Chery Smartwatch Key that functions like a fitness tracker but also lets you start the engine and aircon or open the windows or tailgate, among many other functions.
