BMW PH Teases Arrival Of All-New 2021 4 Series Coupe

The all-new 2021 BMW 4 Series is coming to the Philippines sooner rather than later. Are you looking forward to BMW's two-door offering?

It seems BMW Philippines is preparing to launch the all-new 4 Series based on a recent teaser photo they posted on their Facebook page. While no specific date has been announced yet, the local launch of the all-new 2021 BMW 4 Series is definitely going to happen sooner rather than later.

There’s definitely no mistaking that this teaser photo we see here clearly showcases a hint of the striking front end of the all-new BMW 4 Series and of course, its striking grille.

And yes, we definitely have to talk about that striking grille. The all-new BMW 4 Series is the first BMW to feature the German luxury automaker’s new, tall kidney grille design that’s been a point of contention for a number of people. One thing’s for sure though, it did make the 4 Series look much more than just a two-door version of the 3 Series. The rest of the car looks more conventional–sleeker even compared to the previous 4 Series. Unlike recent BMWs, the 4 Series features fewer character lines, giving it a cleaner and smoother side profile. The roofline has been made smoother and lower than its predecessor, while the signature L-shaped LED taillights now have a dark tint outside the red LEDs. This has been the taillight signature of recent BMWs and it seems every new BMW will now feature this design language.

As for the interior, it unsurprisingly looks similar to the 3 Series, though the German automaker implemented a few material improvements to make it more luxurious and premium compared to its sedan sibling. As standard, the 4 Series is equipped with the BMW Live Cockpit Plus, which works in conjunction with the standard iDrive 6 with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As shown in the press photos is the M440i xDrive with the optional fully-digital BMW Live Cockpit Professional and iDrive 7 with a bigger screen.

As for engines, we think that BMW Philippines will offer the 4 Series as a 430i and M440i xDrive, especially since this is destined to be positioned above the 3 Series in terms of powertrains. The 430i uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 gasoline engine that produces 258 hp and 400 Nm while the M440i xDrive uses a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-6 gasoline engine that produces 374 hp and 500 Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic, with the 430i being rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and the M440i xDrive using BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

Pricing and final specifications are also unknown at this point, so be sure to check Go Flat Out PH regularly to know more about the all-new BMW 4 Series, especially once this sporty coupe has finally been launched.
