2021 Nissan Navara To Make PH Debut On March 21

Nissan Philippines has started teasing the arrival of the refreshed Navara, with the launch date officially happening on March 21.

Nissan Philippines has started teasing the arrival of the facelifted 2021 Nissan Navara, and it is destined to come to our shores by March 21, 2021.

Though details are still lacking, the teasers posted by Nissan showcase the face of the new PRO-4X variant. From the orange accents to the wheels and larger grille, it is easy to tell that the model being teased is the upcoming top-of-the-line variant of the newly-revamped Navara.

Most of the lineup features a larger interpretation of the brand’s signature V-Motion grille. This is then flanked by quad-LED headlights on higher variants. There’s also a new, more aggressive front bumper and a new set of LED taillights, which now makes the Navara’s design more in line with the rest of the brand’s pickup lineup. New for 2021 is the aforementioned PRO-4X variant, which gets a black grille, black wheel arch extensions, black mirrors, and black badges, though we still aren’t sure if Nissan Philippines will call it the PRO-4X in our market.

Nissan has also updated the interior of the Navara, though the changes are quite minor. These changes include a new steering wheel and a larger multi-information display at the gauge cluster. Nissan has also added a number of noise isolation measures, including new acoustic laminated glass. The Nissan Connect infotainment system also receives a number of improvements, such as a more responsive touch experience. As expected, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will definitely come as standard, as is with the pre-facelift model.

We expect the Philippine market Navara to still feature a 2.5-liter inline-4t turbo diesel engine in two states of tune. The lower variants produce 160 hp and 403 Nm of torque while the higher variants produce 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic.

A number of improvements have also been made in the chassis of the Navara. The new model features a strengthened rear axle, increased payload capacity, additional truck bed volume, and a new integrated step in the rear bumper for easier access to the truck bed. A new steering rack has been adopted to enhance maneuverability at low speeds and steering response across the speed range.

During its global launch, it was revealed that the 2021 Nissan Navara can be equipped with a number of Nissan Intelligent Mobility driver-assist features, such as automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, and a 360-degree camera system. However, we find it surprising for Nissan not to equip the Navara with features such as radar-guided adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, just to name a few. Considering how advanced its pickup rivals are right now, we fully expect Nissan Philippine to equip the higher variants of the Navara with all of these advanced safety features.

We only have to wait until March 21, 2021, until the new Nissan Navara is finally unveiled in the Philippine market. Until then, do stick to Go Flat Out PH for the latest updates on Nissan’s latest pickup offering.
