Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc., the official Subaru distributor in the Philippines, is preparing for the arrival of the refreshed 2021 Subaru XV, with the vehicle to be officially launched on June 1. The new subcompact crossover is part of the Japanese automaker’s model offensive in the next 18 months, which already includes the recently launched Evoltis.
With this refresh, the 2021 Subaru XV gains a redesigned front bumper, new grille, and new alloy wheel designs on all variants. There’s also a new Plasma Yellow Pearl paint option along with new LED foglights.
As for the interior, the changes are also very minor from an aesthetic point of view. We don’t have any available specifications at the moment, though it’s safe to say it’ll still have an 8-inch touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Subaru’s SAR 360 cameras, a high-resolution multi-information display, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.
We also expect the powertrain to remain the same, which means it should continue to feature Subaru’s tried and tested 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine that produces 154 hp and 196 Nm of torque, with power being sent to all four wheels via a CVT.
Safety is paramount to the brand, which is why the XV is equipped with their EyeSight suite of advanced driver-assist systems. It includes the usual automatic emergency braking, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning. This comes on top of rear automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning, and rear cross traffic alert.
In overseas markets, EyeSight now comes with lane centering, which is basically a smarter lane keeping assist feature that has the ability to keep the car right smack in the middle of a lane. We certainly hope that the 2021 XV will be equipped with this feature.
Pricing and final specifications have not yet been announced, with all details set to be revealed on June 1. Interested? You can now register your interest here by clicking this link.
