After a delay due to the enforcement of stricter quarantine measures in the NCR+ area, the 2021 Subaru Evoltis officially goes on sale today in the Philippines at all Subaru dealers nationwide. We’re also quite a special market for Subaru because we’re the only market in Asia where this three-row SUV is officially on sale.
There will only be one, fully-loaded variant to be sold in our market priced at P3,480,000 and it’s called the Evoltis Touring. This is also the same fully-loaded Ascent being sold in the United States, which means we’re getting every single bell and whistle from the American model. Oh, and yes this arrives in the Philippines completely assembled straight from Subaru’s Lafayette, Indiana plant.
From the outside, the 2021 Subaru Evoltis features a rather conservative styling the blends well with the rest of the brand’s lineup. This sole Touring variant gets swiveling full LED headlamps with automatic high beams, LED foglights, large 20-inch wheels, LED taillights, roof rails, and a roof spoiler. Dimensionally, the Evoltis measures 4,999 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, and 1,819 mm tall. It’s definitely a behemoth since it’s bigger in every single measure compared to pickup-based passenger vehicles (PPV) like the Fortuner and Montero Sport.
Those large dimensions are reflected in its sheer amount of interior space. Because this is the fully-loaded Touring variant, it gets second-row captain’s chairs as standard, making this a seven-seater large SUV. The third-row seats are actually wide enough to accommodate three adults unlike those in narrower PPVs. There are also 19 cupholders that are certainly more than enough to burst everyone’s bladder during a road trip.
Additionally, this fully-loaded Touring variant gets all the goodies such as ventilated (cooled) front seats, tri-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, 14-speaker 792-watt Harman Kardon sound system, 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with two-person memory, 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, 8-inch Subaru Starlink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, powered tailgate, just to name a few.
Powering the Subaru Evoltis is a turbocharged 2.4-liter horizontally-opposed four-cylinder boxer engine that produces 260 hp and 377 Nm of torque. In typical Subaru fashion, power is sent through all four wheels via a CVT. In this configuration, the Subaru Evoltis can tow up to 2.5 tonnes.
Of course, the Subaru Evoltis will arrive with the brand’s EyeSight suite of advanced driver-assist systems, which includes automatic emergency braking, full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and lane keeping assist. This comes on top of other rear-facing safety features such as rear automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning and rear cross-traffic alert.
As mentioned, only one variant will be made available: the Evoltis 2.4 Touring EyeSight. It will retail for P3,480,000 and will be available in five colors: Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Silica, Crimson Red Pearl, and a brand-new color – Abyss Blue Pearl.
The first 50 customers who register online at https://www.subaru.asia/evoltis/ and complete their purchase of an all-new Subaru Evoltis will also receive a limited-edition Evoltis watch to match their brand-new vehicle.
