The 2021 Volkswagen Multivan Kombi is finally here, and it arrives fresh from the company’s Hannover, Germany plant. Only one variant will be on sale, and this is the aforementioned Multivan Kombi, which aims to target the high-end premium van segment that is dominated by the Toyota Alphard.
The model on sale in our market is powered by a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with Tiptronic function and coasting feature. This engine produces 150 hp and 348 Nm of torque, driving the front wheels.
As for features, the Volkswagen Multivan Kombi and its conservative but timeless exterior design is packed to the brim with all the creature comforts and technologies you expect in this segment. The front fascia is characterized by Volkswagen’s signature horizontal grille that’s flanked by LED headlights with LED daytime running lights. Buyers can also opt for the Multivan Kombi’s signature two-tone paint scheme that gives this van a striking look. Other tech features include dual power sliding doors and a powered tailgate.
Inside, the luxurious Nappa leather interior is complemented with ultra-comfortable captain seats in the front and second row, the latter of which can swivel for face-to-face meetings or family affairs. On the other hand, the 3rd row can still comfortably seat three people and allow their seats to recline and slide. A multifunction folding table is also equipped as standard and can be positioned in between the second and third rows.
Volkswagen Philippines has also announced that a limited supply of the Multivan Kombi has already arrived locally, straight from Germany, and will be available in three colors: Reflex Silver, Black Pearlescent, and the Bi-Color Reflex Silver/Starlight Blue for an indicative price range of P3,650,000. Other color variants of the Multivan Kombi will also be available by special order.
