Bentley is offering customers a final opportunity to purchase the Mulsanne Grand Limousine by its Mulliner division. Five examples of these rare, modern coach-built ultra-luxury cars have recently become available for purchase. These five cars were all built by hand by Mulliner in 2015 and shipped to the United Arab Emirates, but never used nor registered.
Originally created as a private commission, Bentley Mulliner was then given consent to build a limited run of cars for like-minded customers. Five of these have recently become available for purchase through Bentley Emirates, with delivery anywhere in the world available as required.
With production of the Mulsanne having ceased last year, these models represent a unique chance for customers to acquire an iconic piece of modern Bentley history.
Unlike most stretched limousines, the Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine preserves the model’s elegant lines and proportions. The result is the longest manufacturer-built limousine in the world, with its shape adapted beautifully to the length of its stretched wheelbase. The car rides on 21-inch wheels that have been treated to match the car’s exterior paintwork, while even its stainless steel Flying ‘B’ hood ornament is engraved with the words “Coachbuilt by Mulliner”.
The cars available for sale each have their own unique identities and specifications, to suit any taste:
- Silver Frost over Moroccan Blue exterior paint, paired with an Imperial Blue and Linen interior completed by Burr Walnut veneer
- Damson over Black Crystal paintwork, complemented by Damson and Twine leathers and Dark Stained Burr Walnut veneer
- Onyx over Candy Red exterior, with a Hotspur and Camel interior finished with Olive Ash veneer
- Rubino Red over Light Gazelle bodywork, with an interior in Fireglow and Twine leather paired with Burr Walnut veneer
- A single tone Black Sapphire exterior, with an Imperial Blue and Camel interior contrasted by Dark Stained Burr Walnut veneer
Apart from the obvious lengthening and raising of the standard Mulsanne’s roof, the Grand Limousine gets a bespoke climate control system for the four rear passengers. Each one gets their own micro-climates and enables individual control of the temperature without affecting other passengers.
The face-to-face seating arrangement also gets a bottle cooler with crystal flutes sits between the front-facing seats, while a beverage cabinet with bespoke crystal tumblers is placed between the rear-facing seats. Veneered, folding picnic tables allow occupants to work comfortably on the move. iPad docking and charging stations are also equipped. Lastly, there are three handmade dials that display UK and local time alongside the exterior temperature.
Lastly, the Bentley Mulsanne Grand Limousine is equipped with an intercom system for communication with the driver. The partition between the front seats and the rear features electrochromic glass–the first time this technology has been implemented in a Bentley. At the touch of a button, the entire panel can be switched from transparent to opaque for complete privacy.
Just like the standard Mulsanne, the Grand Limousine is powered by a 6.75-liter twin-turbo V8 gasoline engine, that produces 505 hp 1,020 Nm of torque. This engine powers the rear wheels via a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. More than just stretching its wheelbase, the Mulsanne Grand Limousine’s chassis and suspension have been re-engineered to accommodate the lengthened body.
