Auto Nation Group, the official distributor of Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, and Ram trucks in the Philippines, has officially launched the new Ram 1500 Rebel, which is the off-road-focused variant of the Ram 1500 full-size pickup and is one tier below the Ram 1500 TRX.
Whereas the standard Ram 1500 Laramie focuses on luxury and comfort, the Rebel variant has a more utility-focused and rugged exterior. Some of its features include its 18×8 black wheels in combination with the off-road fenders and a raised ride height thanks to the Bilstein shocks. Most of the chrome elements have also been swapped in favor of blacked-out elements. In addition, there are now front and rear steel bumpers, tubular side steps, and other matte black accents across the exterior.
Just like the exterior, the interior has also been made more rugged, though the level of luxury and quality is still the same as the Ram 1500 Laramie. Some of this truck’s highlights include a 7-inch multi-information display, a 12-inch UConnect touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, electronically-adjustable front sport bucket seats, a 9-speaker audio system, just to name a few.
Ram is particularly proud of the flexibility that the Ram 1500 offers. One of which is the Rambo cargo management system, which is a series of hooks and tie-down points the enable a wide range of netting and partitioning for the cargo area. In addition, this full-size pickup also comes with the RamBox cargo management, system, which is a pair of waterproof storage areas at each side of the bed.
Powering the Ram 1500 Rebel is a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 naturally-aspirated gasoline engine that produces 395 hp and 410 Nm of torque. Power is sent through an 8-speed automatic manufactured by ZF via a 4WD system with a rear electronic locking differential. Additionally, thanks to the Bilstein shocks, ground clearance is more than 230 mm.
As for safety, the Ram 1500 Rebel gets automatic emergency braking (marketed as Advanced Brake Assist) and the usual suite of airbags, hill start assist, hill descent control, all around parking sensors, among others.
The 2022 Ram 1500 Rebel is now on sale at all Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram dealers nationwide with a price tag of P4,090,000.
