JDM fans rejoice! The Honda Integra will be making a comeback in 2022. Honda’s premium brand Acura teased the impending arrival of the Integra sporty compact car alongside the launch of the 2022 Honda NSX Type S.
“The Integra is back,” said Jon Ikeda Vice President and Acura Brand Officer. “I’m thrilled to say Integra is returning to the Acura lineup with the same fun-to-drive spirit and DNA of the original, fulfilling our commitment to Precision Crafted Performance in every way – design, performance and the overall driving experience.”
At this point, no other details have been revealed, apart from a teaser photo of its LED headlights with the Integra name etched into the bumper. This is a design feature that first made its appearance in the original DC2 Honda Integra back in 1986. The design of the headlights and grille are similar to the all-new TLX front-wheel drive (FWD) sports sedan, so there’s a chance that the two vehicles will share the same platform.

What we do know about the upcoming Honda Integra is that, based on a Tweet by Kurt Bradley, the future Integra will certainly have a trunk. Whether this will be a two-door coupe or a sedan is still unknown. One thing’s for sure though, it thankfully did not follow Mitsubishi’s lead to give one of its sporty car’s iconic nameplates (ahem, Eclipse Cross) to a crossover.
Honda has promised to reveal more details closer to its 2022 launch date.
