The 2022 Geely Azkarra has been unveiled in China with a number of aesthetic changes, most notably on this new variant called the X.
The new Boyue X (or Azkarra X) sports a new front grille that features a new corporate pattern called Vision Starburst. The front bumper has also been completely redesigned to match the sportier grille. Along with this are orange accents on the foglight housings and side sills. There’s even a new set of sportier 19-inch black alloy wheels and a blacked-out upper tailgate at the rear. The rest of the design, however, remains unchanged.
As for the interior, it remains largely unchanged from the previous model. However, this new X variant features a two-tone blue and white interior. The 12.3-inch touch screen infotainment system is powered by Geely’s new E01 system-on-chip (SoC) that’s said to make the infotainment system even more responsive. Higher-end variants of the Azkarra now feature a Bose sound system.
The 2022 Geely Azkarra is powered by either a 1.5-liter inline-3 turbo gasoline engine in the base variants, which produces 174 hp and 255 Nm of torque, the same as the one in the Coolray. Higher-end variants, meanwhile, get a 1.8-liter inline-4 turbo gasoline engine that produces 184 hp and 300 Nm of torque. The three-cylinder base engine is mated to an Aisin-sourced six-speed automatic, while the bigger engine uses a seven-speed wet dual-clutch automatic (DCT) transmission.
For global markets, including the Philippines, the 2022 Geely Azkarra will most likely get a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, which produces 190 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Power is sent through all four wheels via a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission with this powertrain option.
For now, the new Geely Azkarra is being sold in China only. Do you wish for Geely Philippines to offer this in our market?
