The 2022 Toyota RAV4 has been unveiled in Europe in Adventure trim, and it also showcases the compact SUV's upcoming changes.

The 2022 Toyota RAV4 has just been unveiled in Europe, and it also marks the debut of the RAV4’s Adventure trim for the European market.

While the news is mainly centered on the European debut of the RAV4 Adventure, its exterior changes will reflect on what the upcoming RAV4 range will look like. For 2022, the LED headlights have been completely redesigned, with new, sleeker LED daytime running light graphics. The grille has also been reshaped, while the front bumper has been redesigned as well.

Moving towards the side, and you now see a five twin-spoke design for the wheels, which are finished in black in the case of the RAV4 Adventure. The rear end, however, looks largely unchanged from the previous model.

As a recap, the Adventure variant features more rugged styling and increased off-road capability, though it still won’t be as capable as a body-on-frame Fortuner, of course. This used to be limited to Japan and North America, but now, it’s going to be offered in Europe as well.

2022 Toyota RAV4 Interior

Interior changes for the 2022 Toyota RAV4 are even more minor, and these are mainly limited to more blue LED ambient lighting, and a power-adjustable front passenger seat across all variants. This RAV4 Adventure variant, meanwhile, gets black synthetic leather upholstery, and orange stitching.

Powertrain options for the European RAV4 range are unchanged for this year, so it’s safe to say this will also be the case for the Philippines. Their market comes with a 2.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine mated to two electric motors, sending its combined output of 219 hp and 221 Nm of torque through an e-CVT. Our market comes with a 2.5-liter inline-4 gasoline engine that produces 203 hp and 243 Nm of torque, which is mated to an 8-speed automatic.

More details about the 2022 Toyota RAV4 will be revealed closer to its on-sale date.
