The refreshed 2022 GAC GS8 seven-seater midsize SUV has finally arrived in the Philippines, bringing with it upgraded style and more standard tech features.
Exterior-wise, its dimensions have remained the same, but the 2022 GAC GS8 is now equipped with a new front bumper that features gloss black trims chrome detailing, satin silver skid plates, and larger air intakes, although the side vents are closed off. The rear also receives the same silver skid plates as seen in the front, while the side profile remains largely unchanged.
While the overall premium interior design of the 2022 GAC GS8 remains largely unchanged, it does receive a number of notable upgrades this year. The GS8’s leather upholstery is now blended with Alcantara, while the front seats now have heating and ventilation. Moving on to the second row of seats, and occupants will appreciate their own lumbar support and separate climate controls. As for charging, there are five-volt USB ports and even an electrical outlet.
Other interior features include a 10-inch infotainment system with Apple Carplay connectivity, a Harman Kardon 6-speaker sound system, heated steering wheel with audio and cruise control, LED ambient lights, a panoramic sunroof, ion-filtered air conditioning system, and a new wireless charging pad
The new GS8 is still powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine that produces 199 hp and 320 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission driving either the front or all four wheels.
As for safety, the new GS8 gets 10 airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, fingerprint sensor door lock, auto-dimming rearview mirror, tire pressure monitoring system, and a powered tailgate with motion sensor.
The 2022 GAC GS8 is now available in two variants with the following prices:
GS8 2.0 6AT 4×2 Sports – P2,088,000
GS8 2.0 6AT 4×4 GL – P2,288,000
