Marvel’s Eternals centers on an exciting new team of superheroes who have secretly lived on Earth for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, the Deviants.
To mark this anticipated release, Lexus has partnered with Marvel Studios to produce a unique short film called Parking Spot, starring Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo. It was directed by the Russo brothers, who helmed four Marvel Studios films including Avengers: Endgame, one of the highest-grossing films of all time. In the two-minute piece, Kingo has to solve a very human problem before he can join the epic superhero battle happening downtown–finding a safe parking spot for his new Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance, the most powerful IS ever, with a 472-horsepower naturally aspirated V8 engine.
To complement this short film, a fleet of 10 Eternals-inspired vehicles were created to show that exciting collaborative storytelling can extend even beyond traditional media as well. These can be found on the www.lexus.com/eternals web page.
In the Philippines, the release of Eternals is partnered with a special event that is grounded closer to real life. From November 26 to 28, special deals can be had on the Lexus IS sport sedan, Lexus UX crossover, and Lexus LM luxury minivan that will be proudly displayed at the Greenbelt 5 Walkway in Makati.
The Lexus IS was born and bred at the Toyota Technical Center Shimoyama Test Track—where the toughest and most challenging roads in the world have been recreated. This suits the IS perfectly, as every facet of its performance was developed on that extremely challenging on-road course, all for the sake of delivering an experience like no other to drivers around the world.
The IS can adapt to the needs of the driver. It can deliver ride comfort while in the city and can also offer superb response and handling during sporty driving situations. This thrilling suspension responsiveness and all-out performance is a result of thorough engineering. The F Sport variant boasts of a normally aspirated V6 engine that delivers 300 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. This is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission for mesmerizing power delivery worthy of a proper sports sedan. Meanwhile, the IS 300h is powered by a 2.5-liter Inline four-cylinder hybrid power plant mated to a Lexus E-CVT for optimum efficiency during every driving condition.
The Lexus UX has handling agility and smooth, quiet ride comfort urban customers will find pleasing. Key to achieving this balance is the car’s high-strength GA-C global architecture platform.
Using aluminum for the side doors, fenders and hood, and composite materials for the tailgate helps give the UX a low center of gravity. As a result, it delivers a secure, agile feeling normally associated with lower-set hatches. A ring structure around the hatch opening and behind the rear seats increases torsional rigidity to enhance crash performance, improve handling and reduce noise and vibration.
The Lexus LM is the ultimate in chauffeur-driven vehicles and has been luxuriously crafted in anticipation of your every need and delivers on the promise of exceptional comfort, performance, and safety. Designed specifically for modern, always-on-the-go professionals, the Lexus LM offers a luxurious, tailored environment that allows individuals the opportunity to either relax in comfort or continue their business while on the move.
The interior of the new Lexus LM can be specified in either four- or seven-seat configurations. Both are luxuriously appointed with expertly stitched leather trim and a distinctive new gin-sui-boku (silver ink) ornamentation inspired by the Japanese art of ink wash painting. Widespread use of acoustic glass insulates the interior from the outside world, while the glass that forms part of the rear partition is adjustable in opacity in order to regulate the levels of privacy.
However, of the two, the opulent nature of the four-seat version is designed to best suit the needs of chauffeured professionals, positioning two luxurious seats in the vehicle’s private rear lounge. Everything about these seats, from their couch-like cushions to the reclining angle and position relative to the window line, was carefully optimized to create the most soothing environment in which to either continue working or decompress between appointments.
