2022 Toyota Avanza Arriving In PH This March, P813K Base Price

The 2022 Toyota Avanza will soon make its debut in the Philippines, and you can already reserve yours on March 1.

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has officially announced the impending arrival of the all-new Avanza. Just how soon is it arriving? The all-new 2022 Toyota Avanza will launch in the Philippine market on March 7, and you can start reserving yours as early as March 1.

Now riding on a much more modern platform co-developed with its subsidiary Daihatsu, the new Daihatsu New Global Architecture (DNGA) is a derivative from the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) that’s meant for vehicles catered to emerging markets. Because of this, the all-new Avanza is now front-wheel drive (FWD), ditching the previous model’s archaic body-on-frame platform. If that platform sounds familiar to you, that’s because it’s also the same platform that the recently-launched Toyota Raize is also utilizing.

“Our mobility requirements are rapidly evolving, especially after the disruptions caused by the pandemic, but one thing remains constant – Filipinos will always need a reliable car that can offer ample, comfortable space for the family, including extended family members,” said Sherwin Chualim, TMP’s First Vice President for Vehicle Sales Operations. “This has always been the strength of the Avanza, but for this 2022 release, expect even more value-for-money features on top of its striking style upgrades inside and out.”

As for features and equipment, TMP has only provided a teaser photo of its LED headlight cluster, and that’s about it. Based on the design of the foglight housings, what we’re seeing here is the standard Avanza and not the Veloz, due to the lack of chrome trimmings.

At least in Indonesia, the 2022 Toyota Avanza is powered by the same 1.3- and 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engines as the previous rear-wheel drive (RWD) model. The 1.3-liter engine produces 90 hp and 121 Nm of torque, while the bigger 1.5-liter engine produces 106 hp and 137 Nm of torque. This drives the front wheels via a 5-speed manual or a new CVT.

We won’t have to wait any longer until the all-new Toyota Avanza is finally launched in the Philippine market, so be sure to stay tuned to Go Flat Out PH to keep yourselves updated on this subcompact entry-level MPV.
